The National Landscape Partnership
The Malvern Hills National Landscape Partnership brings together representatives from various bodies who have an interest in this National Landscape. We work together to conserve and enhance the special qualities of the Malvern Hills National Landscape. It is financially supported by DEFRA, Herefordshire Council, Worcestershire County Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Malvern Hills District Council and Forest of Dean District Council.
A governance structure exists to formalise this joint working and The National Landscape Joint Advisory Committee (JAC) is the strategic arm of the Partnership. This Committee is made up of representatives of government agencies, local authorities, public bodies and a range of non-governmental organisations. In particular it has a formal role to play to ensure that the MHNL Management Plan is produced, implemented and reviewed.
There are a number of governance documents which set out the roles and responsibilities of the partners and sets out how the partnership works. These are regularly reviewed. The Partnership as a body does not own any land within the National Landscape, but supports those who do. Visit our Landowners Information page.
In 2010 an Agreement was signed by Natural England and relevant local authorities which set out a shared vision for and commitment to this National Landscape’s management.
