Local Development Plans
Local Development Plans (often referred to as Local Plans) are prepared by local planning authorities to guide how development and land use will change over time. They set out where new homes, employment and infrastructure should be located, alongside policies to protect and enhance the environment.
The Malvern Hills National Landscape team is consulted on emerging Local Plans where proposals may affect the National Landscape or its setting. We review draft plans and provide formal responses to ensure that the statutory purpose of conserving and enhancing natural beauty is properly reflected in plan-making.
